(written by Dave on Sunday)
Greetings Everyone!
It is my turn to write you. Today is Sunday and as you may remember, we only get one visit with Will today. This is by far the most boring day since we really have nothing to do but for 2 hours in the morning. So we stopped after our visit, picked up lunch from Ankara (the cafeteria type restaurant where we ate with Nicki and Marc so much last time), brought it to our spacious (2 room) apartment and ate it to College Football on ESPN America. Yes, it is hard to believe, but I watched the Buckeyes and now I am watching Texas. Does make Sunday a bit more tolerable here in Karaganda….
About a week ago, Julia (our interpreter), suggested a new restaurant. It is named Cuba. I was thinking plantains with a nice Cuban sandwich on deliciously light and flaky bread. I was wrong. Cuba serves nothing but homemade Russian food. We have eaten there almost everyday. The staff recognizes us now and encourages us to try different things. We have tried their authentic salads, Kelley’s favorite meat pie, their delicious dumplings and whatever else they are serving that day. And for three of us to eat, its about $7. They don’t really understand why we don’t want mayonnaise on everything, but we have been (well I have been) really happy with how my stomach feels.
Getting back to Will; he is wonderful little boy. After about 8 or 9 days, he is getting very comfortable with us. He is very happy to see us when we come in and does not want us to leave him. He plays very well with the other kids and is into and wants everything the other little ones have. He and another little boy were rolling over each other today and just laughing at the fact. He loves to be picked up and held over your head, he just smiles and laughs. And he definitely has his tickle spots.
One other thing we really look forward to is our every couple day call from Katie. She stands with the phone and talks to Mommy and Daddy, saying as much as a 3 year old can. But hearing her voice means so very much to us so far away from her. But when she says “I love you too” it makes us so very happy she is our daughter. She can’t wait to be a Big Sister and we can’t wait to hopefully bring her a little Brother. I really hope she realizes what she could be in for….this little brother will be into everything!!! Talk to you all soon, Dave.

Hey Dave, good to hear from you. We are right with you with everything. There is only one thing equally as good as little boys and that is little girls. Just think of all the fun you will all have together.
